Old school ink to New school think
AN INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOSHOP (& OTHER DIGITAL) EDITING FOR LETTERING ARTISTS.
I am most definitely an analogue artist at heart. I think with my hands. But in this era of production and commerce, I’ve had to make some adjustments. That has meant incorporating digital tools to enhance – not replace – my traditional tools.
Join me in CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA on THURSDAY, MARCH 22nd for an all-day, hands-on workshop! The small class (limited to 5 students) will be held in a private studio in the beautiful Queen City. We will cover best tools and practices on both the analogue and digital side of the process.
If you want to learn how to take your hand-drawn artwork, modify it, prepare it for printing, and have the option to use it again for future projects with ease, this is the class for you. I have no problem admitting that 10 years ago, when Bella Figura approached me to become one of their calligrapher/designers, I didn’t even know how to use a scanner.
Now I regularly edit files in airports on my way to visit my parents in Turks and Caicos. Not an exaggeration.
Ten years of preparing files for letterpress printing has made this perfectionist artist comfortable with shortcuts and digital tools without feeling like I am compromising my work OR I need to learn everything there is to know about the digital world before I can easily translate my art into something that reaches a wider audience.
