A beautifully-expressed sentiment is a true treasure. It is powerful or loving or thought-provoking or clever. It moves and heals and inspires.
You know who else loves the power of the written word? Smock. Paper in New York.
I barely had time to pick myself up off the floor after reading Justice Anthony Kennedy’s opinion from the historic Supreme Court ruling on June 26th before emailing them to ask if they were interested in collaborating on a letterpress art print of his words about marriage.
I was thrilled (but not surprised) that they were, and within days these gorgeous prints were in production!
The response has been wonderful. The prints were featured on Oh So Beautiful Paper, and they have been sent to clients and retailers all over the world.
THE PRINT SAYS: No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were.
The 8×10 prints were letterpressed from my hand-lettering. They were sustainably printed in gold matte foil on white bamboo paper, and they are elegant beyond words. Ready to frame, they make a perfect gift – wedding or anniversary.
By the way, the first anniversary is paper.
